Women’s lax stays red hot as nation’s top team

The Le Moyne women’s lax team remains the nations undisputed top team, and looked the part with two run-away victories last week. On Tuesday, April 10th, the team traveled to last place Southern Connecticut State and greeted them with a 22-7 win.

Junior attacker Brennea Bauer led the top-ranked Dolphins with a staggering eight goals and one assist, her career-high. Jennifer Fabien and Kathleen Conese both contributed a hat-trick, with Conese adding two assists. Kelly Fucillo got the win in net with five saves on eleven shots.

On Saturday, the team returned home to face middle-of-the-pack St. Anselm (6-6, 4-4). Once again, the powerhouse Dolphin team put together a convincing performance, crushing St. Anselm 24-9. This time, it was junior attacker Kelly Condone’s turn to dazzle onlookers as she put up eight points on three goals and five assists. Brittany Brigandi also turned in an enormous performance with five goals and two assists. Conese and Bauer also contributed a hat-trick each. Fucillo recorded another win in net with eight stops on seventeen shots.

With just five games left in the regular season, the Le Moyne women’s lacrosse team looks to roll into the post-season as the country’s top tanked team.
