The Le Moyne men’s lacrosse team looks to keep rolling after their biggest win of the year against Merrimack, and two road victories against conference opponents American International and Bentley.
American International came into last week’s game win less on the year, and the gap in the standings was reflected in a 23-3 thrashing by the first-place and undefeated Dolphins last Tuesday, April 10.
The reigning NE-10 conference goalie of the week, Junior Jeff White, got the win, only giving up one goal in the first quarter. Junior Justin DePalma (2 goals, 4 assists), senior Sean Connors (3 goals, 1 assist) and sophomore Matt Klepper (3 goals, one assist) dominated on offense to help the Dolpins gain another win.
On Saturday, April 14, the team visited Watham, Mass. to face Bentley University in pursuit of their 12th straight win. Bentley has been enduring a tough season with a 2-6 overall record (2-3 in the conference), and the Dolphin’s cruised to a 9-5 win.
The game did have its challenges as the Dolphins coughed away 20 turnovers, but White remained a brick wall in net, making 14 saves. Sophomore Chris Button had three goals, and junior Tyler Prevost dished out four helpers and added another goal.
The remaining regular season schedule for the undefeated ‘Phins includes home games against Pace on Wednesday, April 18, at 4 p.m., Assumption (the final home game) on Saturday, April 21, at 1 p.m. and a road trip to St. Anselm for their last game of the season on Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m.
