Le Moyne College has kicked off another season of indoor intramural soccer for students all across campus.

This year, there are 19 teams participating in the league. Team names range from “Team Awesome” to “The Shooting Stars.” Each team has to have five players on the court at all times, including two girls.  This accounts for a goalie, two offensive and two defensive players.

The games are split into two 20-minute halves, with a short halftime for the team to regroup and discuss their play. Games are between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The games are all indoors and can be played by students who have experience in the sport, as well as beginners.

Teams are often organized by certain friend groups, but can also bring together new people to create strong relationships while playing a sport that they love.

“For me, the best part is getting in a good workout while also having fun with my friends,” sophomore Nate Sherman said.

As the schedule stands, regular play concludes on Nov. 17. The top four teams then enter the playoff round, which takes place on Nov. 22. The final championship game will be played on Nov. 29.

The Division II soccer games may have ended, but the intramural competition is just reaching its climax.
