On Thursday, Nov. 3, Le Moyne’s International Club and Religion Academy will co-host International Awareness Day, an event designed to promote awareness and appreciation for the cultural differences throughout the campus body.

“Its main purpose is to raise awareness about how different and beautiful every culture is,” explained Nilo Hussain, who serves as co-president of the International Club with Flora Chen.

While this event normally occurs annually in the spring, this year it is being held in the fall semester, as many other events have been planned for next semester.

The event will be take place in the James Commons in the Campus Center from 7 to 9 p.m., following a calligraphy event hosted by A.S.I.A. Club. It will feature tables offering food representative of members’ respective countries and cultures. There will be international trivia, games, prizes, raffles and a performance from Le Moyne’s step team, the Dolphin Steppers.

Erica White, president of Le Moyne’s newest club Colleges Against Cancer, will also address the attendees.

“My hope is that people will come and enjoy this event because so much hard work went into making it happen. Now we just need people to come, learn, and enjoy,” added Hussain.

More information about International Club and this event can be found on the club’s website at https://lemoyne.campusgroups.com/international/about/, as well as by contacting Hussain at hussain@lemoyne.edu or Chen at chenc@lemoyne.edu.
